Volunteer Opportunities at Aviara Oaks Elementary School
Volunteers are needed in the classrooms, school office, library, lunches, recess and at PTA sponsored events. Any amount of time is greatly appreciated. Make A Difference, Volunteer!

Did you know that children whose parents volunteer at school say they love school more? Kids have more fun and get better grades when their parents are involved.  GET INVOLVED!

Don’t have a lot of time?  The PTA has lots of ways you can help from your own home, in the evenings or on the weekends!  Check out the following list to see how you can help! Download a volunteer form here.

Assemblies:  Assist chairperson with coordinating and chaperoning the event.

Red Ribbon Week: Assist with decorating the campus and help with lunchtime activities

Yearbook:  Assist with picture taking at various events, provide pictures to Yearbook committee, help assemble pages, and organize Lovelines.

Science Fair:  Need help at event, check in and monitoring.

Hospitality:  Help prepare and set-up food at Open House Ice Cream Social, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, General Meetings and misc. events.

Book Fairs:  Help set up, sell, and monitor during Fall and/or Spring Book Fairs.

5th Grade Promotions:  Planning events and chaperoning activities.

Lancer Day Parade:  Parents to walk along with children in the parade

Library:  Assist librarian in reshelving the books

Jog-a-thon:  Assist chairperson in preparing Jog-a-thon pledge envelopes, set up on day of event and tally runners during the jog.

PTA Translator:  Translate PTA flyers and emails into Spanish prior to distribution.

Volunteer as needed:  We will call you when we need assistance.

After School Programs:  Help at Monthly Movie Nights, Fall and Spring Dances and the Holiday Boutique. 

Dad’s Club:  Dad's, are you interested in helping out around the campus? Painting? Landscaping? Other? The School District generally has funds available for campus projects but not always the resources available. Other schools in the district have dad's clubs to help out and through the PTA, we are doing the same at AOE! We have completed projects like; re-painting doors, rails and downspouts on the portable buildings, re-painting the doors on the 300 and 500 buildings, re-painting the upper playground (and the playground map) as well as the lower playground lines and recently helped distribute textbooks to the classrooms. We generally have a “work party” on one Saturday morning a month for a few hours. We work with AOE Administration on project priorities. Meet the Masters:Help prepare art supplies and monitor assemblies which coordinate with the monthly art projects.

Recycling:  Help collect and separate recycled good brought to school on Thursdays.

Copy Center:  Help in the office to make copies for the school and teachers

Lunch Monitors:  Help monitor the children during their lunches and get paid!
