Support Our Schools (SOS)
Thank you to all the AOE families who have so generously
donated to our 2008 - 2009 AOE Support Our School Annual Giving
Campaign. We collected over $12,000 in our first week, with another
$2000 in potential matching corporate grants! We are off to a
fantastic start!
Please keep those donations coming to keep Science Labs, PE, Kindergarten
Karate, Music, and Classroom grants alive. Your 2008 SOS
contributions will fund:
* Science Teacher, Grades 1-5: $29,000
* PE Teacher, Gr. 1-5/Kinder Karate: $29,000
* Music Program, K-5: $20,000
* Teacher Grants/Classroom Expenses K-5: $5,000
PTA sponsored events like gift wrap sales, restaurant nights, carnivals and
dances cover only a portion of these expenses. Our SOS Campaign Goal is to raise
$50,000 by November 15th to cover the remainder of the
costs.

After-School Enrichment Classes Are Back!
Don't miss out on the fun and excitement. Our wonderful
instructors are returning for Learning Lab, Unreal Science, Golf, Play
Ball, Hoops, Jazzercise, Flag Football, Chess, Camp Imagine, Karate and
Spanish (a year long class). Enrollment packets will be sent home

Recycling
The first collection of the 2008-2009 school year is tomorrow,
9/4. Please bring your aluminum cans and CRV or CA Cash Refund
plastic bottles to the recycling volunteers on the lawn within the school
gates. We need all of you to help us reach our $7000 goal.
Please remember NO milk containers, food cans, laundry bottles, or glass of
any kind.

"Becka and the Big Bubble" Book Launch Party!
Join us Sunday, September 14th, 2-5 PM when we introduce
"Becka Goes to San Diego". This family event includes free
food, drinks, games, temporary tattoos, face painting, free goodie bags,and
much more. The party will be held at the Encinitas Library and
adjacent park located at 540 Cornish Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024. 15 %
of the proceeds from book sales at the party will go back to local

Captain Cook's Culinary Academy for Kids is Now Open!
We are a cooking school designed specifically for kids age
3-14. Our weekly classes feature hands-on preparation, basic cooking
and baking techniques, kitchen safety and nutrition. All of our
recipes contain organic ingredients. We also offer unique birthday
parties, camps, play dates, parents night out and scout badges. Call
