Traffic Reminder
As the school year begins, we'd like to remind you to be careful drivers in and around our school.  Especially in the first few weeks, there will be a lot of confusion during pick-up and drop-off times, please remember that students in the crosswalk have the right-of-way, and courtesy and safety should be afforded to all pedestrians.
Note: There is no right turn on red from 7:30 am to 8:20 am and from 1:10 pm to 3:10 pm from Aviara Parkway onto Ambrosia Lane.

AOE Family Restaurant Nights at Baskin Robbins!
Join us at Baskin Robbins (by Vons) on Aug. 27, 28 or 29th (Wed., Thurs. or Fri.) for ice cream at Baskin Robbins between 4:00- 9:00pm.   Bring the flyer and Baskin Robbins will donate 15% of all AOE sales to our PTA.  Supporting our school tastes so sweet! 

AOE Cookbook
Be a part of the first ever AOE Cookbook!   Submit your favorite family recipe to be included in our professionally bound cookbook.  We need 400 recipes by Sept. 15 2008.  So, submit your recipe soon.  Just click here and follow the prompts to log in.

Support Our Schools (S.O.S.)
Our annual fall giving campaign  has officially kicked off!  Our children's education is our top priority, and now, more than ever, we need your financial commitment to safeguard our children's educational experience at AOE.  For the 2008-09 school year, your contributions will fund the following programs:
  * Science Teacher, Grades 1-5:  $29,000
  * PE Teacher, Gr. 1-5/Kinder Karate:  $29,000
  * Music Program, K-5:  $20,000
  * Teacher Grants/Classroom Expense K-5: $5,000

PTA sponsored events like gift wrap sales, restaurant nights, carnivals and dances cover only a portion of these expenses.  Our SOS Campaign Goal is to raise $50,000 by November 15th to cover the remainder of the costs.

Recycling Thursdays

Thursday morning recycling will start next week, September 4.  Please bring your recyclables to the volunteers on the lawn inside the school gates.  Clean out all those aluminum cans and CA Cash Refund plastic bottles that you have been saving all summer and help us start on this year's $7000 goal.  If you took recyclables to the center over the summer, you can bring your cash donation to one of the volunteers and get your name listed in the first newsletter of the year.  Please remember no glass and no milk containers
