Carlsbad Unified announces "A new online Payment Center for Parents!"  Parents can: 
* Make payments to their child's account
* View cafeteria purchases by your child
* Track meal account balances
* Set up reminders when your account is low

Parents:  Be sure to have your child's CUSD student I.D. # ready when you open your account.  This is the same PIN number your child uses on the pin pad in the cafeteria.  If your child doesn't know this number, you may get it from your child's teacher.

Service fee of 3% per transaction amount or a one-time membership or subscription fee will apply.  All fees go directly to mySchoolBucks.com to cover the vendor's costs of operating the mySchoolBucks Service.
 
SOS Update for week 4

At the end of Week 4 of our 2008 - 2009 SOS Annual Giving campaign, we have $30,000 in personal donations and qualified matching corporate grants.  We are well on our way!

Please give today to support Science, PE, Kindergarten Karate, Music, and Classroom Grants this year at AOE.  Our goal is to reach $50,000 by Nov 15th.

Boxtops News: It's time to submit your Boxtops!  There will be a drawing on Friday, October. 24th for a $25 Target gift card.  Look for the form in your Eagle Express coming home this Friday!  You can use the form, or just attach 10 Boxtops to a sheet of paper with your name and teacher and you will be entered into the drawing.

Restaurant "Day" October 8th
Please join us for our family fundraiser restaurant day at El Camino Grille  Wednesday Oct. 8, ALL DAY -hours are 11 am - 8pm. Dine in or TAKE OUT (we strongly suggest take out, as there is limited seating). Burgers are delicious.  El Camino Grille is owned and operated by the same family that owns Savory.  El Camino Grille is located in the Olds Vons shopping center.  Remember you must present the flyer (located on the AOE website under "Forms") for our PTA to receive credit.

AOE PTA Reflections Program is Back!
This year's theme is WOW!!
Do you express your creativity through dance, music, story or poetry?  Do you dream of having your drawing displayed in a specific exhibit?  Do you enjoy taking photographs or videotaping your friends?
Then participate in the PTA's Reflections Program.
Here are the details:
Categories:  Visual Arts, Literature, Film/Video, Dance/choreography,  Musical Composition
Due Date: October 10th.  Drop submissions off at the AOE office.

Dads Club Update

Parent Project
This is a comprehensive, award-winning and activity-based parenting skills program focusing on prevention and intervention of the most destructive of adolescent behavior.
Classes are for ten Wednesday nights starting date, October 8, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Recycling 
We already have our first $1000 for the year!  Last week our collection was over $180.  Let's see if we can beat that number this week.  Thank you to everyone who brought in aluminum cans and CA Cash Refund and CRV plastic bottles.  Please remember NO milk or yogurt cartons, NO cleaning products and NO glass.  These items are recyclable but do not bring us any money.  Please place them in your home recycle bins.

Kids Are Worth A Million Golf Tournament Sept 26th
The 8th Annual KWAM Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, September 26th, at The Crossings at Carlsbad.  All proceeds go directly to support educational programs in Carlsbad schools.  For more information click here.
